Our journey to Siem Reap, Cambodia wasn’t smooth and easy. Fortunately, our hotel accommodation in Angkor Pearl Hotel was able to relax and recuperate our tired bodies.

After our three days stay in Bangkok, it was time to bid our farewell in Bangkok. We were scheduled to go to Cambodia on January 24. So we rented a van that would take us to the border. We crossed the border and then we rode a bus that would take us to Cambodia. It took us a total of 13 hours to get to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

We arranged for us to be picked up in the bus station. So when we got to the bus station, we didn’t have to look for tuk-tuks that would take us to our hotel. The Angkor Pearl Hotel provided two tuk-tuks for the six of us.

Here is a picture of us before we entered the hotel.

When you enter Angkor Pearl Hotel, you’ll be welcomed by the scent of Jasmine. We reserved two rooms and they gave us rooms on the third floor. This hotel doesn’t have elevators so be prepared to go up by foot.

In front of the cabinets is a door leading to the bathroom. Their bathroom has cold and hot shower. You could also take a bath in their bath tub. If you can’t live without a hair dryer, they have one but it’s the usual hotel type hair dryer.

They also provided us with complimentary fruits including rambutan, banana, and passion fruit.

Angkor Pearl Hotel Superior Twin Room with Extra Bed

Our reserved rooms were a Superior Twin Room with extra bed. The room is very big. The beds are twin beds even the extra bed is a twin bed. We really needed to relax from our long journey and recuperate for our Angkor Wat Tour, good thing the beds are really comfortable.

Our reservation includes daily breakfast. Since we needed to go to Angkor Wat early the next morning to watch the sunrise, we requested that they pack our breakfast. Our breakfast was ham, tomato, and egg sandwich with banana. It was a little disappointing but they packed our breakfast even before they cooked for their breakfast. We had to live before 5am so I do understand that they can’t pack rice and viand for us. But I wish they gave us more fruits.

For our breakfast the next day, we had the chance to eat at their breakfast buffet.

Angkor Hotel Breakfast Buffet

For my first round, I got fried rice, omelette, hotdog, sautéed bok choy, and vegetable tempura. I love their buffet spread. Their hotdog is not the usual American (salty) or Filipino (sweet) style. The hotdog has a sour taste to it. The omelette has ham and is a little bit runny. I loved it! I had another round of vegetable tempura and omelette since those were my favorite viand from the buffet.

Angkor Hotel Bread

They have two types of bread but I already forgot what those were called. They also have mini croissant. I love mini croissants especially with butter.
Angkor Hotel Fruits

They serve fruits in their buffet as well. They have pineapple, watermelon, and dragon fruit. After my buffet breakfast, I was really full.

I loved our stay at Angkor Pearl Hotel. They were very accommodating with our needs. They provide tuk-tuk service if you need to go around town. I love also the scent of their hotel. It’s very relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a budget friendly hotel in Siem Reap.
