On February 18, 2014, GMA Network held a Del Monte Kitchenomics Bloggers Conference to launch the new season of Del Monte Kitchenomics. I’ve never been invited to a blogger event before so when Felyne Siao, one of GMA Network’s Social Media Specialists, contacted me last Friday I said yes.
I got to GMA Network Center early since I thought there would be traffic in EDSA. It was a good thing that I got there early since I got to talk to other bloggers. I also got to take pictures before the event started.
Before the event started, they served Kaldereta. It tasted so good that I had to get another serving. The beef was so tender. The sauce has a bit of spiciness to it. The recipe for the Kaldereta they served is included in the Del Monte Kitchenomics 100 Best-Loved Recipes so do try it out for your family will surely love it. Aside from Kalderetea, they also served Lechon Kawali and Vegetables. Out of the three viands, only the Kaldereta is a Del Monte Kitchenomics recipe.
Here’s a plated version of the foods that they served us.
For dessert they served Fiesta Float.
I loved this dessert! The recipe for Fiesta Float is also included in Del Monte Kitchenomics 100 Best-Loved Recipes. I will try making this for my family and friends next time. I’m sure this will be a big hit for them as well.
After serving lunch, the event proceeded with a preview of one of the episodes that they will air for this season’s Del Monte Kitchenomics. The new season of Del Monte Kitchenomics will feature Carla Abellana and Chef Jackie Ang Po. Carla Abellana was chosen to be part of this season’s Del Monte Kitchenomics for her passion for food. Chef Jackie Ang Po on the other hand is a multi-awarded chef and a mom who loves to cook for her family which would make it easier for Chef Jackie to relate to different dilemmas that mothers encounter.
Chef Jackie mentioned that the recipes that they used in their upcoming episodes are ones that would be easy to follow. The cooking methods have been simplified by the Del Monte Kitchenomics team since not every household has an oven or a broiler.
When asked what is Carla and Chef Jackie’s favorite Del Monte dishes, Carla answered with Italian Style Spaghetti. Meanwhile Chef Jackie answered with Tortang Monggo. I’ve never heard of Tortang Monggo before so I really got intrigued. Chef Jackie didn’t elaborate about her favorite Del Monte dish but she said that we should definitely watch out for that in their upcoming episodes.
What I like about Del Monte Kitchenomics is that they make the show so easy to follow. The ingredients used in the recipes are ingredients that are easy to find.
Aside from Del Monte Kitchenomics new episodes, they shared that they have a series of recipes called Swak Sa Budget Mondays on their website. Every Monday they publish a recipe that would only cost us P100. They also have a Kitchenomics App which allows you to view their recipes, create a shopping list, and many more.
After the event, we were given Del Monte’s 100 Best-Loved Recipes. I’m not really the cooking type of blogger but since I was given Del Monte’s cookbook, I don’t want it to go to waste. So I’ll try cooking the easier recipes in here and then I’ll share the finished product with you guys.
Catch the new season of Del Monte Kitchenomics on GMA 7 every Wednesdays and Saturdays before Eat Bulaga and Sundays before Sunday All Stars.
