Remember my post last week about Pino Resto Bar? After our dinner at Pino, we dropped by at Pipino as well and bought Vegan Red Velvet and Green Tea cupcakes to go.
I got so curious what cupcakes would taste like if they were made without eggs and dairy products so I bought two cupcakes. I like that their ingredients are listed in a board.
Notice how some of the trays are empty. I think Vegans really love their baked goods. We were told that the cupcakes and cookies was baked the day before. For cupcakes and cookies to be sold out already after a day is really something. Their best selling cupcake is Green Tea cupcake. Too bad there’s only one piece left. Krisella of Thoughts of a Lipstick Monster wanted to buy the Green Tea cupcake as well. I told her that we could share mine instead.
Here’s our take out order. I ordered the Green Tea cupcake and Red Velvet cupcake and Krisella also got the Red Velvet cupcake.
The Red Velvet cupcake didn’t taste like the usual Red Velvet cupcake. The frosting doesn’t taste like cream cheese frosting. But I wasn’t really expecting that they would be able to recreate a cream cheese frosting since that frosting is made out of dairy products. The cupcake itself tastes like a cupcake that you could get from a bakery. The frosting is sweet but not too sweet. This cupcake is still good considering that no egg and dairy products were used.
The Green Tea cupcake tasted really good. This cupcake has that Green Tea taste but it’s not the strong type of Green Tea. This cupcake doesn’t taste leafy at all. I like the frosting as well. The frosting has the right amount of sweetness to it. This cupcake is definitely better than the Red Velvet cupcake. Now I know why Green Tea cupcake is there best seller.
It’s good that there’s a restaurant that serves healthy foods. I will visit Pipino again for their dishes and their baked goods. I really wanted to try their Squash Risotto but I just couldn’t resist Pino’s Kare-Kareng Bagnet. There’s always a next time though.
